Thriving as a Leader I

Building Strong Foundations of Wellbeing at SAGAR

Have you ever wondered what truly makes someone a great leader?

It’s not just about giving orders or having a fancy title. Real leadership is about having a clear vision, caring for your team, and inspiring people to do their best every day.

In January, NAMI Foundation launched the “Thriving as a Leader” leadership series at SAGAR Group.

This program is specially designed to help both experienced leaders and upcoming talents grow in a more balanced and human way - by focusing on their own wellbeing first.

The first session, “Introduction to Leadership Wellbeing: Building the Foundations of Team Leaders’ Wellbeing,” was truly special. Instead of the usual boring lectures, it felt more like a lively and interactive learning experience.

Participants got the chance to explore leadership from a fresh angle - through the lens of psychology. An expert guided department leaders with simple, practical insights that everyone could easily understand and relate to.

They also learned how to build strong, happy, and high-performing teams that actually enjoy working together.

What made the session even better were the hands-on activities. People didn’t just sit quietly - they took part in fun exercises, shared their own leadership stories, and learned from each other’s real-life experiences.

You could see the energy in the room as participants opened up, laughed together, and walked away with new ideas they could actually use in their daily work.

It was heartwarming to watch so many people genuinely engaged and excited about becoming better leaders.

Some were quiet at first, but by the end, almost everyone was actively sharing thoughts and asking thoughtful questions.

At NAMI Foundation, we strongly believe that when leaders take care of their own wellbeing and lead with empathy and purpose, they create stronger teams and more positive workplaces.

That beautiful energy doesn’t stay limited to the workplace - it quietly flows into their families and communities too.

This first session was only the beginning of what promises to be a truly inspiring journey. We’re already looking forward to the upcoming sessions, where we’ll explore deeper topics like practical leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and ways to stay resilient during tough times.

At the end of the day, let’s keep nurturing leaders who go beyond managing tasks - leaders who truly listen, care, and uplift the people around them with empathy and purpose.

Here’s to building stronger, kinder, and more human workplaces, one mindful step at a time.
