Sagar Group's emerging leaders came back together for the third session of Thriving as a Leader, and this time the topic was resilience . Most people think it just means bouncing back after something goes wrong, but this session pushed for more than that. Real resilience means coming out of a hard moment stronger than before.
Host Sajja Bartaula opened the day by asking everyone to look back. Participants talked about the lessons and moments that had stayed with them from sessions I and II, and it set a thoughtful tone for the rest of the day.

From there, Mrs. Ruma Pradhan, Counselling Psychologist and Director of NAMI Foundation, took over. She started with the Johari Window, which was a simple way of spotting the blind spots people rarely notice in themselves. Then the talk shifted to negativity bias, and why the mind tends to hold on to bad moments so much longer than good ones. By the end, the group was sitting with something almost every leader deals with at some point: the pull between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset, and how that choice, more than anything else, shapes the kind of leader someone becomes.
One powerful takeaway from the session was: “Hopefulness in hard time is what resilience truly comes down to”
Before wrapping up, Mrs. Pradhan left the group with three simple things to hold onto. Lead by example. Reframe what feels stressful instead of just carrying it. And catch the negative thought early, before it takes root.

Resilience Hero Storytelling brought out real emotion. Participants shared stories of getting through hard times, some their own, some about someone they admired. Resilience stopped being just a word on a slide at that point. It turned into something the room could actually feel.
A roleplay exercise gave participants the opportunity to practice empathy, active listening and problem-solving through realistic workplace scenarios. Feedback from observers made the learning even more practical.

The session concluded with a personal reflection activity titled "The Leader I Want to Be." Each participant wrote about the kind of leader they aspire to become and the values they want to carry forward in their leadership journey.
Beyond the activities and discussions, the session encouraged participants to look inward. It challenged them to understand how they respond to setbacks, how they receive feedback and how resilience shapes the way they lead others.
As the third session came to a close, participants left with practical tools and a renewed perspective on leadership. Through the continued collaboration between NAMI Foundation and Sagar Group, Thriving as a Leader continues to create opportunities for emerging leaders to strengthen their mindset, build resilience and lead with purpose.
